My Services

At Joey's Quilting Co., I offer professional longarm quilting services to bring your quilt tops to life with beautiful custom or edge-to-edge designs, using my Gammill Premier-Plus longarm machine, Mr. T. I also create custom quilts to preserve special memories. My offerings include T-shirt quilts crafted from cherished shirts, baby quilts that make perfect gifts or keepsakes, and memory quilts made from sentimental clothing or fabrics to honor loved ones and significant moments. Let me help turn your fabrics into treasured keepsakes you’ll cherish for years.

01 Longarm Quilting Services

Transform clients' quilt tops with custom or edge-to-edge quilting on your Gammill Premier-Plus longarm machine, Mr. T.

An Edge-to-Edge (Pantograph) Design in longarm quilting is a continuous, all-over pattern that covers the entire surface of the quilt from one edge to the other. This type of quilting design is created by repeating a single pattern—often a series of loops, swirls, flowers, or geometric shapes—across the quilt. It provides a cohesive and balanced look without focusing on individual blocks or sections. Pantograph designs are a popular choice for longarm quilting as they add texture and visual interest to the quilt while being cost-effective and quicker to complete than custom quilting.

I also offer customized quilting options tailored to your design preferences.

02 T-Shirt & Memory Quilts

Made from cherished T-shirts, ideal for preserving memories.

Quilt constructions:

  1. Clothing Panels: The first layer of the quilt is made from the clothing items, which are the quilt's main focus. T-shirt panels are typically 15 inches, and both the front and back of the shirt can be used. For baby clothes, panel sizes vary depending on the size and graphics of each item.

  2. Heat-Bonded Stabilizer: To keep the clothing panels stable, I apply a heat-bonded stabilizer to the back of each piece. This stabilizer prevents stretching and puckering, creating a solid foundation for the quilt.

  3. Sashing (Optional): Sashing frames each T-shirt panel, giving the quilt a clean, structured look. While it’s commonly used in T-shirt quilts, sashing can also be added to baby quilts for a polished look instead of a ragged edge.

  4. Batting: This is the middle layer of the quilt, adding thickness and texture to the finished piece.

  5. Backing: The backside of the quilt typically features a solid color or coordinating design that complements the quilt’s front.

  6. Binding: The binding goes around the quilt's edges, giving it a finished perimeter. Note: Binding is not used on rag quilts, which are popular with baby clothes quilts, as the edges are intentionally frayed for a soft, textured effect.

03 Baby Quilts

Custom-made baby quilts, perfect for gifts or keepsakes. Baby quilts are constructed the same as the T-Shirt & Memory quilts unless you are wanting a rag quilt.

What I need to know: how many baby clothing you have? Creations take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to complete.
